Mark has acted in ten Broadway plays, from AMADEUS (1981) to ANGELS IN AMERICA (2018). Off-Broadway credits include THE ORCHARD with Mikhail Baryshnikov, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE by Steve Martin, MY NAME IS ASHER LEV by Aaron Posner, and TIMON OF ATHENS with Richard Thomas (The Public Theater). He toured the country as Herr Schultz in CABARET and performed in 6 countries in THE WINTER’S TALE, both directed by Sam Mendes.

Favorite roles in regional theater include Vanya in UNCLE VANYA (directed by Bartlett Sher), Shylock in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, Matt in TALLEY’S FOLLY, all 36 characters in I AM MY OWN WIFE, and Mayer in THE LEHMAN TRILOGY, for which he received a 2025 Helen Hayes nomination for best actor.

Mark has directed plays at Manhattan Theatre Club, McCarter Theatre, George Street Playhouse, Berkshire Theatre Festival, and the Juilliard School. He has received the Obie, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel Awards, the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship. He studied acting with Uta Hagen at HB Studio.
